    Default A perfect 10

Why does one require 10 posts to be able to create a signature?

Requiring 10 posts eliminates a lot of spammers who only join to get their signature links posted. It's not really difficult for someone joining to quickly hit the 10-post requirement.

Mostly spammers try to create backlinks as fast as possible. They can't wait and make 10 valuable posts. So if we set the minimum requirements for creating and using your signature to 10 posts, we can eliminate spammers to some extend..

He made 10 posts on this thread alone, all junk.
Then I deleted them, giving him a reminder to follow the forum rules.
Then he started making all the two line threads with keywords back to his websites.
    Then he got banned.

Adding the minimum post requirement caused us a big drop in signups. But yet we are happy

Sorry, I should have been more clear that making the minimum posts to meet the requirement should be done with quality posts, not junk. (IMHO, any forum is better off without the link spammers than with them. No loss at all and a big plus in forum quality.)

Well, that's the forum rule to avoid Spam activities.
