Thread: Driving traffic from Twitter

Do you guys use Twitter to drive traffic to your sites? I have been using Twitter for the last few weeks and it seems quite nice.

I am not a regular user. I just go there once a while and post some updates with some URLs. In a way I am spamming. But if you look at it differently, I am just a blogger who is keeps his followers updated with his latest posts.

I never tried that myself. Can you give us some numbers as to get an idea?

well I have posted 8 updates so far with links to my blogs and here are the results:

30 visitors for SEO and Blogging Tips (5 updates with link to this blog)
56 visitors for SEO for Blogging (3 updates with link to this blog)

This is only with 100 something followers. If you think about it, this is not really that bad. If I post updates regularly and get more followers, then I can get quite some traffic. Also notice, that the traffic comes for only few minutes because the updates disappear from the main menu after some time and so even such small numbers are important.

Thats not bad, I am sure it would get better as you get more friends.

I gonna give it a try, just for the sake of knowing how it works.

Overall, twitter is quite nice...i don't think i will ever use it for the purpose it was created but i will definitely post updates to get some traffic every now and then.

From what I've seen it's a great way of building blogs (not necessarily backlinks) and you can network with a bunch of people relatively easily.

I should sing up to Twitter as I am always doing mad things so it is great for madness. I will check you out tomorrow Himo as my backlog is stifling after a netless week lol.

I have had a Twitter account for quite sometime now. I recently became very addicted to it after I went to Affiliate Summit and everyone was sending Tweets all day from their phone.

People spend more time on my site clicking through Twitter than any other referring site.

I haven't use it before but as you say it generate good traffic for the website then I added it to the list for website promotion.
