Thread: Pinterest

Finally received my "Pinterest" invite yesterday and i CANNOT stop playing with this site!

Personally i think it is one of the best bookmarking sites i have come across so far. Im writing a blog post about the site today and wondered if anyone had anything they would like to share regarding this service?

I have used this site also and also one called scoop.it which seems similar.
It seems fairly easy to use, but you have to wait about a week to get an invite.

Yeah i waited about a week too.

Was looking at the way the links work and noticed that images are nofollow and the text is dofollow?? however the system auto adds a "/" character to the end of each URL so it results in the link going to a 401 page!

Anyone got any advice with how to work round this??

You can add links to the description which appear to be dofollow. I guess you just then need to get your pins URL indexed?

Have written my blog and posted it to our website. I still cant post links here but you can follow my profile to our website if anyone wishes to view it. We have an option to leave nofollow comments here, i would appreciate some feedback. This is a "how to" blog post not written for SEO. Thanks.

Someone just pointed out that there could be some use with generating QR codes for Pinterest too. I would never have thought to link the two, but im going to experiment with these.

Pinterest is able to do this across their site by using the service skim links. This service is rather ground-breaking in that they mechanically go through a site and add affiliate links wherever there is a link to a product that has an associate program associated with it.

Pinterest is a illustration bulletin plank for the Web. It thrives on wonderfully simple descriptions of ideas for the home.

I've heard of this place a few times, will have to take a closer look someday.

I seen this on Facebook abunch of times but never thought anything of it. i will have to check it!
