It depends upon the nature or marketing type in which you are working. If you are talking about sales department then 40-45 is enough. But if we talk about online marketing then it depends upon your interest to be connected with updates and new marketing trends. If you loose your interest then you will retire very soon and same as in other situation.

I think there is no age limit for retirement in business.
and as for as business perspective so I think Marketing is an ongoing process which start from the birth of business to the end of that business.

depends on how good you are and how much money you made. if you marketed for Nike back in the day you are on a beach somewhere livin life.
I think with marketing it is how good you keep with the times. Older people do not adjust to change as good as young people so their techniques may become old and outdated, which is why they may be asked to leave early.
They work on commission so sell a lot, make a lot, retire early!

Ye, as Rjd1265 said, it all depends what you have earned, marketing is a big profession, there are so many different marketing techniques, so the retirement age is purely down to the person's ability to deliver.
