Google index blog faster than website, because blog updated frequently with new content. Means, if you can update your site regularly with new content then your website also will be index fast. There are many blogs that do not crawl fast because of no update.

I don't think that google crawls blogs faster than websites, but since the nature of blog is constant updated content, crawler will visit your site regularly, thus make it appear like google crawls blogs faster than websites.
