Forum Marketing Is it good or bad for traffic generation???

What do you guys think about forum marketing, do you think its bad for traffic generation or its good for traffic.

The reason I ask this question is because I got into an argument with someone who said forum marketing is a waste of time, what do you guys think is it a waste of time?
i speak for myself when i say I enjoy participating on forums and its not a waste of time

Forum marketing is mostly targeted to market your website to improve the brand identity and link building rather than driving traffic. Generally it doesn't drive a greater traffic and very few marketers get huge traffic from it. But it's one of the best way to promote your site and improve the link popularity.

forum marketing is good , in fact i prefer forum marketing than other ways to get traffic...

Forum is not for traffic generate its question and answer form so don't you exception of traffic from forum posting.

Its not at all wastage of time. It helps to build good back links. Its is the best method of creating back links and that too in very short period of time. But be careful that you don't get spammed. Search for high PR forums and try to create back inks through it... Good luck
