Thread: Question about Alexa Ranking

What is anyone's opinion about Alex ranking. Through my own research I have Alexa to be very unreliable at best. Does anyone have any comments or questions about this? Either good or bad. I just curious to find out if my results from a multiple website study are fairly accurate.

Well, This is from the site itself. SO i would go with that as not everyone uses there toolbar and that is were it gathers the info.

I think that each webmaster want to be on the top in google search results.Nowadays,due to new google Panda algorithm,does no matter so much Alexa ranking,PR or something like that.So,I think that Alexa ranking(and also the PR) is useless.

Alexa traffic is mostly based on the number of visitors. The more you can get traffic, the better your rank would be. So from the alexa ranking, ones can measure the popularity of that site.

Alexa does have the supposed reliability of a popularity of a site, however, I believe through my own research their data is inaccurate with any site that is not below 100K on alexa. As it is only a guide to results, and I do not rely on it, I wanted to know if there was anyone which may know of the discrepancies of Alexa?

Though, Alexa has a reputation of being inaccurate, somehow this alexa ranking will still help you to determine the volume of traffic your site gets. So, for me, there's nothing bad about this alexa rank.

Alexa ranking is largely based on traffic and not quality of the site so it may not be the best indicator about how powerful a site is.

Alexa Rank your site according to the number of visitors you get per day. if it is stable then the rank will be good.

It is good indicator for bigger websites. For small ones, there is basically no meaning in alexa rank.
