Thread: What is the average conversation rate for websites?

In general online marketing, what is the average conversion rates that websites get? Is it 1%? If so, what are the factors that a webmaster needs to do in order to get more than 1%?

i think its around 1.78% and i am very much satisfied with this. cause i get around 2k to 3k visitors per day. in only one of my blog . it may be little for others but for me its very enough

It depends very much on what your business model is.

if more online marketers focused their efforts on studying visitor intent and site optimization, instead of just driving traffic, their average conversion rates would be much, much higher. Many sites are wildly successful using this strategy like Proflowers,Coldwater Creek, FTD.com etc.
