Why most forums fail
Many people get into having a forum thinking they can earn tons of money just opening a forum. In most cases they just look at some big forums and wish they could be like that.
Truth is bitter, many realize as they start working on their forum. Most new forums die within the first year. Very few can make past the second year.
Here is a short list of reasons why most forums fail:
- Most new forum owners cant realize how much work is involved to run a forum. Lack of activity from forum owner is the number one reason for a forum fail.
- Lack of contribution from the forum owner. For any new forum, owner should be the one contributing valuable posts. Without good posts it would be hard to get people join.
- Lack of consistent marketing. New forums need consistent marketing over a long period of time. Most forums fail to keep it up.
- Forum owner don't have enough knowledge on the niche.
