If you never have had a website, and now you have started this very nice website; you need traffic. You probably was thinking in the world of www people will find your website in very short time. Guess what, you been dreaming. There are several billion websites already in the internet. And chances are very high the idea of your website or similar ones has been implemented by others. So why people would come to your site?

Answer is you don't want people come to your website, you make them come to your website. You make them come to your website by your content, service, whatever it takes.

Here are some small marketing tips for those folks just started a website:

Content
Improve the content of your site. As said content is always the king. Content is what will make a visitor come back to your site, establish a brand.

Short Term Marketing
If you happen to be getting very little traffic you should take strategy of introducing your site to as many people as possible. Why? Since very little people know about your site you have to take the opportunity of spreading the words pushing your site in front of them to take a look. So what are the short term marketing solution? There are many. To mention few classified advertising, submission to social networking sites, social bookmarking, forums signatures are some solutions.

Long Term Marketing
SEO is the most important marketing you could do for you site. Traffic from search engines could bring you hundreds even thousands of daily traffic. There are two main elements involved in getting search engine traffic. On-Page optimization which involves optimizing your pages for your desired keywords. And secondly link building. Lot of people do not realize how powerful link building could be. Build as many backlinks as you can. Never stop, its a continual process.

Experiment and Learn
If you asked somebody knowledgeable how to market your website, chances are very high that you will get a list of things to do. Now some of them are very useful to your website, some less useful (I am not saying not useful). Its you who have to find the marketing methods that works for your website and niche. Don't be afraid to experiment with different techniques; discard the ones not useful, keep the ones get you results.

Hold your wallet
Many new webmasters make this mistake. They think spending some money will give their site the initial boost and then their site will be well-known to all. Thats not the case. Keep your wallet in your pocket as much as possible. Try to do the methods that does not require money first. If it requires learning a new marketing method, which you don't have knowledge on, learn it. If you are rich with a fat wallet no worries.

Exactly! Because I've seen some site that there are spending more money for the betterment of their site but the problems is they are not earning their target income

If you are connected to the internet, you need to make sure you get your computer set up properly if you want to avoid problems down the road.
