I found a great new e-book that answered alot of my questions on this subject. Very easy to read and worth the time to download it! There is also a great mini-ecourse that gave me a few ideas I never thought of before!

In a nutshell, here’s how it works:

1. You find an untapped, low competition niche.
2. Then you find an affiliate program with a complimentary product, which pays a decent commission.
3. Then you research and find low competition keywords that you can write articles about.
4. Next you write a series of articles based on the low competition keyword or keyword phrase.
5. Then you submit your article to popular article directors so they get picked up by Google and the other major search engines.
6. And finally you earn affiliate commissions, get opt-in signups, make money from selling your own products or earn AdSense revenue.

Bum marketing is so called because even a bum can make money using this method. Bum marketing involves finding a profitable niche, or one that could be profitable. It has to be something with a reasonable large following, and a reasonable number of topics attached to it.

Bum marketing is basically a variation of article marketing.
You find a niche market in which you explore popular keywords and phrases, you filter the low competition ones and use them in an article that you have optimized. This method allows you to get the most from search engines. For example, your product could be from dog food to autoresponders, all you need to do is write an article, fill it with profitable keywords and submit it to article submission sites and directories. Being optimized with those keywords, it will rank high in search engines.
