Default Techinical Problems with websites not good for business

According to a recent nationwide survey from Guidance, 36% of online shoppers ran into problems with e-commerce sites when buying gifts during this holiday season 2008.

Common problems experienced by people were:
    Slow web site : 34%
    Crashed web site: 21%
    Could not complete purchase: 19%
    Site was temporarily down: 16%
    Purchase didn’t go through: 10%

I think problems like these should be solved with utmost importance, otherwise it will pretty much ruin the whole business.

site uptime is a big issue. if we would look at popular sites, they hardly have any downtime. think a properly working functional site is a key for success.

The "could not complete" one is horrible, it immediately turns potential customers off and then you lose business and become a target of negative word-of-mouth.

Yeah this is a major problem and it really pisses off customers...if I ran into some problem on a commerce site...i will just go to another one and buy something from there.

This is not good from business point of view if any website going under mentioned problems. Any visitor or costumer become frustrated if they are sending any gift or product from a website and not complete it in time.

Having all those problems turns people off and the people might never go to the website ever again. I think that people and companies who have e-commerce sites need to spend some of their money on making sure that the website and order process is working as it should.

Every customer is important. And from a customer's point of view, if there are a lot of alternatives, you will just move to another site instead of waiting for the other one to get fixed.

Its usually because a lot of ecommerce sites are just blogs with a lot of affiliate stuff from amazon and stuff, and those load really slow!

Yeah those are really crappy ones.
Good ones like Macys know that need to maintain their sites properly.
