  • How do I setup private nameservers?

If you have a VPS with cPanel with us, you can register your own nameservers (ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com). First of all, you need to obtain IP addresses to point your private nameservers to. You can check them in your Welcome email, or contact us via HelpDesk in order for Hosting team to double check them for you. Once you have IPs on hand, you can go ahead and register the nameservers on the side of your domain registrar. If your domain is registered with another company, please get in touch with them for the nameservers setup assistance. Lastly, when the nameservers are registered, you need to set them up on the server: 1. Login to WHM and go to DNS Functions section > Edit DNS Zone menu. 2. From the drop-down list choose the domain you would like to set the nameservers for, click on Edit. 3. Update SOA record indicating your primary nameserver and the usable email address:

If you have purchased your domain directly from eNom and not through HostGator, you will need to follow the directions below to register your private name servers:
      1. Log into your eNom account.
      2. From menu bar within your portal, navigate to Domains -> Advanced Tools -> Register a Name Server
      3. Enter the name server in the Name Server text box.
      4. Enter the IP address for the name server in the IP Address text box.
      5. Click the Submit button.
      6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 to add for any other name servers you wish to register with your eNom registered domain.
