I dont think so both are same. in article writing the main purpose is not business promotion but to provide information to user. in blog writing we provide enough information about our business and services.

If we're getting technical then it is all the same, aim is to get a backlink.
If we are talking about blogging then it is totally different from article publishing in the sense that blogging is done on personal website/blog or sometimes on guest blogs.
Article publishing is what you find on most news websites such as WSJ (Wall Street Journal), The Guardian, The Washington Post, etc but not limited to news only, can be social news sites also.
What I've seen is that people only post in forums to get backlinks but the fact is that they don't know anything about the thread. No one saw what is the topic of thread just started posting their answers. faiza will you please explain what are you asking for, as there is a big difference between article and blog writing, and article and blog submission. Although I think so you want to know the difference between article writing and blog writing. So, in article writing, you write about current topics and you write it based on facts. But in blog writing, you give "your" opinions about the current topics.
