If you are a forum owner, or thinking of having one, here are some ways to make money from your forum.

PPC Ads
You can use ppc ads like adsense etc.

Affiliate Programs
You can advertise your affiliate stuffs.

Private Sales
Stay open to sale advertise as people contact you for them.

Paid Subscription
This would only work if you can establish your authority over a niche. Have the entire forum subscription based aint probably a good idea. At least people should be able to read without subscription in most sections.

In Text Advertising
Services like infolinks offer in-text advertising that you can use on your threads etc.

Sale Sticky Threads
You can sell sticky threads for money.
