Domain Age affects PR?
A cousin of mine created a forum few years ago. There is no more active users and the last post is too old already. Now it has a pagerank of 1. How did that happen???

Domain age does have an effect determining the authority of a site. Just because there is no activity does not mean it can't have pr; it still may have some old posts valuable to search engines.

Yes, and theres a simple reason why. The longer youve been around, the more pages you should have indexed and the more backlinks you should have, assuming you have been up and doing work.

You need to know how to keep the pages fresh in a search engine. You can look on the web to find out how if you don't know, some people here could help you to. Site longevity is a key factor if you are an owner of a site that is for your business or you make profit off of.

yes it affects page rank. domain age only determines the period of the domain and also the site. it is considered as one of the important factor in PR. to know the age of your domain there are many sites available. also you can know the age of the domain from who is tool. you domain registry date will be displayed while checking it. with the help of that you can determine the age of the domain. i checked my domain age from WhoisXY.com

Yeah, it seems that Pagerank has negligible importance now in organic search. In this Google update many new born baby sites have got a good PR and many old aged domain have lost their PR.
