Anybody Got Listed on DMoz?
DMoz plainly sucks in their policy how they include sites. I never could get any of my sites listed with them. Anybody got a luck getting in?

I still have to try...I keep telling myself to go and submit but it seems like it will be a waste of time.

Well, it sure helps a lot of people. I have seen many people who have brand new sites that are listed on DMOZ, its like some people or some service instantly lists you in DMOZ. I wish I could list my proxies and lookforav on DMOZ.

There was a post on V7N that many of you may remember and is still a bit of an on going debate. Birdie there was a dmoz editor and he stated he did not even look at submitted sites because they were all trash sites. Now when I called him out on this and confronted him on this he got into a debate with me on it and did a bit of a 180 and changed his toon to look better by saying he did look at them, but most were not worth his time.
Simply put if this is the type of editors they have what chance does anyone really stand to get included.
Consider that they are all working for free and even though they are supposed to be monitored they can come up with a reason not to include your site. I have read stories over the last few years from former editors who said that some of the practices by editors were unethical as they would weed out the competition to their own websites.
While I would love to see everyone get listed that had a quality site it is simply not ever going to happen.
Yes they need standards and that is good, but when editors who have a vested interest in keeping their competitors sites off the directory are allowed to do this it simply makes the project mute and worthless.
