Sorry, but DMOZ does not exist as a free listing service to web owners. DMOZ is a group of people who collect url's into categories as their hobby. Editors receive no form of remuneration and work in their spare time. The object of DMOZ is to build a directory of categorised data for those who want to search the internet using such material. DMOZ and its editors have no interest in any value that a listing might give to a site. You as site owners might be interested but DMOZ is not.
But you can help to alleviate the long wait that does happen to some sites, whilst they await a volunteer editor, working in their spare time, to evaluate the site and offer your free time to join the community almost every page has a button that says something like "editor required" all you have to do is press it, pass the entry tests to make sure you can cope with editing and you are there. You can then be called lazy, corrupt and all the other things that we volunteer editors have to take when site owners don't get their site listed in days, weeks or years, when they think they have a god given right to be there. See you on the DMOZ internal forums
My opinions are my own and do not represent DMOZ directory, staff or other editors.

I had one site that got listed in DMOZ but that was over 10 years ago. None of the sites I've submitted over the last few years have been listed.

Whatever I do i can't get listed. I've left it weeks then resubmit. I've come to the conclusion that the category editor doesn't want us listed because we're competition!

It can take from a few days to a few years for a site to be reviewed, but did you bother to read the guidelines that you said you had read when you FIRST suggested the site, you know the one that says
http://www.dmoz.org/docs/en/add.html.Please only submit a URL to the Open Directory once. Again, multiple submissions of the same or related sites may result in the exclusion and/or deletion of those and all affiliated sites
But despite reading that you submitted several times.......So it may well just have the fate of spam you find in your inbox...zapped.My opinions are my own and do not represent DMOZ directory, staff or other editors.
