Thread: My site listed in DMOZ but not in google directory why?

Recently one of my blog justtechnika.com got listed in dmoz.

I have heard that dmoz directory and google directory are same.

My site justtechnika got listed in dmoz in this page dmoz.org/Science/News_and_Media/Weblogs/

But when i go to the same category in dir.google.com i dont see my blog!

And other website in dmoz except mine are listed in google dir!!!!!

Why is it?

I think google is ignoring my site!!!!!!

how come ... I have never heard of this .. you should contact google for reconsideration .

its take time to showing in Google or maybe u missworng any thing

DMOZ produce a weekly rdf dump of their directory for downstream users of the directory to use for their directories. The Google Directory is just one of ~3000. DMOZ has no influence of when these users update. Some doing it weekly. Some have not done it for years. Google tends to do it 3-4 times a year, but has gone >6 months between updates. Your site will be in that category in the Google Directory when they next choose to download the rdf dump and update from it.

Google copy the dump of dmoz directory every month. I think google has not copied the category where your site listed yet.

huh? They stopped doing it monthly last century! They often go up to 6 months (and sometimes more) between updates!

i have submitted my website in dmoz.org a year ago but not yet listing, What is the problem with them. Please help me.

My site is listed in Google but still not listed in Dmoz i m waiting for Dmoz approval.

google and dmoz are not the same. Google is a search engine and dmoz just a directory. Listing in dmoz does not mean to get rank in search engine of google.

Do you actually read threads before you post in them? The question was about the Google Directory, NOT, the Google search index!

Google takes around 3 months to update your link into Google directory.

Google takes time to update its database so wait for some time Google directory will certainly show your website.
