Thread: DMoz on Sale?

There is a rumor that the owners of Best of the Web Directory are in talks to buy Dmoz from AOL and that a deal could be reached fairly soon.

This is a rumor and it was posted on shoemoney blog. Anybody else heard anything about it?

Just rubbish, if it was so, then this would be a big news...

Why would any one want to buy that hunk of junk, its about as use full as all those aol disk you would get in the mail.

Its a crap for sure, but it got a huge brand established; thats what is it's selling point. Even anybody spend 10M to buy it, it would worth the money.

I have been hearing this all over the internet but I am not sure if it is true or not.

Yeah I didn't know that either. AOL has done a real shitty job managing DMoz for sure.

I always thought GOogle and DMOZ were affiliated in some way...guess i was wrong.

Exactly, and now I cant recall why I thought so...

DMOZ is really a big fish and very difficult to hunt and it is like old lion in the forest.
