It's depend on you how much you traffic want via directory submission try to submit in relevant category if you want quality and fast improvement..

i dont think directory submissions would directly get you much traffic. however it helps get you better serp rank for targeted keywords and this get traffic from that.

Its not how much quantity but it is rather how much quality is important. Hope you got it

I am doing these submissions for a long time already and i can tell you a couple of things about them.

Don't expect to much organic direct traffic from non recip free directories. That's because they are free and non reciprocal. ( one way ).

But on the other hand, if you do a submission and you have someone that has a good list with seo friendly directories, like high PR, Dofollow etc yeah then they can be very powerfull.

You have to make sure your link is embedded between other sites like yours, same content.

These submissions can be worth the $ if done correctly.

Approval can take time but I have found that advertised directories on webmaster forums are typically faster. If someone is advertising their service, they are most like looking for submissions.

Quality is better than quantity..If you are submitting your site to directory submission sites make sure that you are submitting it to the right and relevant category..

I personally think if you are using more than 2 PR directories for submissions so you need to do only 50-60 submissions in a month and you will get good result.
