Laptop is better for working purpose and desktop is for entertainment.

Because of its large size, expandability and permanence, I use my desktop for work. However, when I travel, I use my netbook, which is lightweight and powerful enough for my needs -- I'm a writer.

Surely laptop as it is portable and can be used anywhere but the problem is the charging. Though desktop is also good for the home users and also for rough usage.

Laptop are the most convenient and they are easy to carry and these days every one is using laptop for any king of tech work.
