Default strange problem in my laptop

I am having a strange problem with my HP 4530s laptop. I have plugged in the charger and the sign in the right bottom says the charger is plugged in, but not charging. I am really disappointed by it. If anyone has a cure of it please let me know.

Does it work when you remove battery and just use charger?

It could be a number of things.

As mentioned above, remove the battery, then try it. If it works through direct ac, then, you have a soft battery, and it needs to be replaced. Laptop batteries don't have much of a lifespan, usually a couple years+.

If it still doesn't work, then it could be a bad ac adapter, which is known to go. Or, the ac plug port on your motherboard maybe bad.

try draining out all the power then restart.

to drain all the power, restart computer, hit the key to get to set up screen, leave it on.

I think your charger is broken.. bring your laptop to a nearest store that sell chargers and test it there. If not the charger, it might be the port.

Laptop require power is DC. There is a adapter who converts ac power to dc power. It may be a problem of adapter. Adapter may fail to converts required dc voltages.
