Niche and traffic source
It depends on your niche/website subject matter. Also are people being attracted to your website via search terms that involve "action phrases". Words like "Buy" "Reviews" "Compare" are very important.

Even though I prefer in-house affiliate programs which pay recurring commission I earn solid money with CJ too. I will be happy to answer your question if I know the answer -- just ask

2 or 3 bucks per day with CJ? It's still a dream to me from CJ.I would be happy if I could make around $1/per day from them.

You simply need targeted traffic. Start a niche website, add some affiliate links (not only banners, add the links to the content -- ideal way how to do it is review some products). Then start PPC campaigns (if you have enough money and less time) or search engine optimization (if you have more time and not too much money).
As soon as you will rank well for your keywords, the traffic will earn you good money.

I used them a few years ago on a couple of sites. To be honest, my earnings with CJ did not make much sense. Clicks would just stop and start again even though traffic was consistent. I have heard people criticise their tracking so maybe that is the reason.
