I never felt comfortable using them. CPC ads are sort of guaranteed for some earnings.

20 clicks are not huge traffic. It is possible that next 20 clicks earn you more. It is also possible that you simply chose an affiliate program which is not too related to your website.
How do you promote the affiliate offer? Do you place only banner on your website? If this is your case, you can increase the conversion rate by "preselling" the product or service which you promote. Write a quick review and explain to your visitors why this product/service may be useful for them.

Yes, no offense but they pretty much said it all. 20 Clicks is not enough to say you followed testing CJ and it's not working. If you were reaching 600-800 clicks per month and you were getting no where, then I would suggest you talk about it not working. You need to test it with all you have. Find the right target audience, watch your competitors and beat them to the game!

Yes 20 clicks is nothing to base your conclusions, even if you have great website with super pre-sale process and highly related ads.

20 clicks isn't even a drop in the bucket. I've been using CJ for years, get about 15K views and 150-200 clicks per day but some days I don't even get a single conversion. Other days, I can get 4-5 conversions.
When I first started with CJ back in 2002, my earnings were miserable, took me nearly a year to get my first check even though I had the banners on high traffic sites. somewhere along the line, I started developing mini-sites to promote "specific" CJ advertiser and then my earnings took off. On good months, I can clear $4-5K from CJ but the average is about $2K.
So, the key is to completely target the advertiser with your site, not the other way around.
Just my two cents. hope it helps someone out.

CJ is not responsible for an affiliate program not working on your site, ad that is the same for all networks.
In order to work well:
- choose an affiliate program that fit your site content well
- do not use banners but text or content links, or product links.
- use deep links to specific products, not the Merchant's home page
I hope this helps.Michel Gerard - Want to learn Internet Marketing This Afternoon?
