Both of them are best to use. The success of your blog will not depend on what kind of blog software you will use. Its success will mainly depend on how good you are in writing your articles or posts for its content, how well-versed you are in gathering quality backlinks and how effective you are in promoting it to social networking or bookmarking sites.

If you are looking for a free blogging platform and don't know much about blogging then I suggest you go with Blogger (blogspot). It is much more user-friendly.

i will say wordpress is nice we can make categories in it and i think this lacks in blogger.

if your concern is cache rate is only then blogspot is best, because it is own by the google it self.
But over all blogging experience is better in the wordpress. I mean to say template, seo friendly tool and plugins etc...
