Default How do I get or create a Blog?

I'd like to have my own site. Can someone please explain the difference between Websites and Blogs?

How does a website or a blog work?

Interesting, I saw on a site that the word 'Blog' came from 'Web log'.

I appreciate your help and thanks.

You can choose between blogger or wordpress. Blogging is actually just like doing your diary. only you make it interesting because you want it to be read by many people.

You need to understand what really you want from internet? Is that visitors for your products or for your blogging?

This can only help you understand that you should blog or make a website providing any servicing / products.

Blogs are another kind of website. The content is usuallyorganized by date and category with the most recent post/content displaying first.
If you look at this site, the content is organized by content and not by date or category. This is a static website.
So it's important to think about how you want your content to be organized by default.
Having your visitors view/sort your content by date and category may not be the optimal solution for every kind of site because the older content will get buried as your site gets older.
Have you ever visited a blog and had trouble finding what you're looking for because of the content organization?
This is because the owner didn't do a good job of making use of static content to help you navigate through it.
You can change this, but it requires you to learn how to use the WordPress menu feature, create pages instead of posts, etc. I explain how to do all this in my WordPress tutorial for beginners.
    Setting up a Blog

To create a self-hosted blog (more on why self-hosted is better later), you need adomain name (yoursite.com) and a web host.
Even though a site like Blogger is free and makes setup a snap, you don't actually own the content or the site because it's hosted on Blogger's domain.
Not to mention you receive an unprofessional-looking domain like yoursite.blogspot.com instead of yoursite.com.
If you use a company like WebsitePalace.com to buy your domain and host your site then you can setup a self-hosted WordPress blog for free in seconds with theirWordPress hosting plan.
You simply login to your hosting account and follow the instructions for launching your WordPress blog. It literally takes minutes.
I like WordPress much better because there are a handful of free plug-ins you can use to make your blog much more interactive, functional and dynamic.
Let's say you want to add a shopping cart to your blog so people can buy products. With WordPress, all you have to do is download a plug-in (most are free) and the functionality will be added to your blog in seconds!

Websites are usually static pages that are promoting a service or a product. Blogs is the shortened weblog - more likely a journal.

I think one of the main differences and advantages of a blog over a website is the fact that you can make it interactive, by inviting comments from your readers - you can actually get a conversation going. I think a blog's a great way to build up a content-rich site to attract people and interact with them. You can also have an opt-in form on your blog to invite people to sign up for regular updates, then use your blog posts to provide your list with valuable content with a bit of relevant promotional material thrown in.
