Thread: A couple useful sites that may help you guys

Here are a couple websites that I found in Darren Rowse book Problogger.net that might help you guys out.

www.103bees.com - This site gives real time referral information about how people reach your sites. It tracks how they reach it, but also the terms or questions they put into the search engine that allows them to find you.

Now this could help alot since you could focus your keyword efforts better and improve your chances of more people finding you. And with it more articles geared towards these particular keywords that you are doing well in. Best part I think is that you do not have to wait to find out it is real time information.


www.wordtracker.com - This site offers a tool with a free trial that helps you understand how many people are searching for a particular keyword and how many sites are competing for a particular keyword.

Would be very useful in helping to narrow your keyword selections down and get better results again. Also would help you identify niches that others may have not really found yet.

I agree they sure would. I am going to try them out and use them to help me make better choices on keyword selection in my articles as well and try to target people better.

Yep, and may be we can target high paying keywords as well.

True. Wouldn't it be nice to get those $20 and up clicks from adsense. The highest I click I have gotten in the 4 years of using adsense has been $15.00. Would be awesome to see those higher paying ones more often. However, if you are averaging upwards of $1 t $2 per click you will do very well if you get your traffic up.

Forums are a bit hard to monetize. Hence the reason I am looking for just the right template for my hosting forum. I want to leverage the people searching for hosting. I will put up affiliate banners to start in the advertised spots till I get traffic built up.

Yeah I think it would be an excellent way of earning money. I guess you could get good number of ads from hosting companies. Plus later on you may have your own hosting company.

LoL actually that is what I do. I am a host. I do it for customers I get locally mostly here in my own area, but competing on a par with players like hostgator is a no win situation.

This is why I partner with someone else to provide my "cheap large packages" and do managed business hosting myself which is a premium market. I target only small businesses. Leave the medium to large market to others.

My goal is to get mostly out of hosting and run the forums and my blogs only.

However, I cannot complain I have made my living from the net for the last 4 to 5 years or so. Used to be a manage for a couple large companies. Like being the boss better.

Thats even better, you got all the elements needed to make a good cake. With your experience I am sure you would be able to bake it nicely
