Thread: DMOZ Do you submit your new site's?

Hi,

Considering how long it takes to get accepted..wonder how many of you actually submit your new sites to DMOZ?

Do you even bother? Is it worth the wait? How may hits do you get from them?

Frankly saying like I don't like DMOZ now - very lazy they are ...

I did submit it; never got listed. Now I don't care
Awful directory.

I didn't like them too. Of course they didn't accept my site. But that is not the question. To be accepted there you need to have a friend editor or be editor.
The main idea behind the directory is lost this way, I don't think it deserve its place anymore.

I heard that it takes too long as well but I might do it in future just for the sake of it. I don't really care about it now.

Just submit in it and forget abut that your site to be included by them.

I tend to submit my sites and then I submit to alexa - as I like to check my stats - I think you have to be on DMOZ for Alexa to find you. i also submit to Google and that is it.

How do you mean? I'm not listed on DMOZ but I rank on Alexa.

I do not find dmoz relevant at all, it takes to long to get your site listed if at all, and when I last looked at the sites in my niche most links did not work, the domains had been parked, or the last update on the listed site was in 1999, so I do not even bother with submitting there.
