Thread: Alexa traffic.

Hello everybody,

I discussed in one of the forum,what is "Alexa traffic" ? I don't have any idea about this term and I don't get any satisfactory answer also in this regard from there. So I decided to ask here with the hope that i will get relevant answer here for this term. If any one is having any idea, Please let me know.

Alexa does not provide much traffic like it used to.
Few years back they had the related website feature, a webmaster could submit their site info to Alexa. Which got people some traffic.
Now a days thats automated.

We get traffic from Alexa if we show up on the related site list, or people find our alexa page and click on the links.

Alexa is site ranking company...if your alexa ranking is best then your site is the best in the world..

I don't have much faith in Alexa period. My site dropped to like 1.3 million and then swung back to 320,000 for no legitimate reason. My Google analytics showed a pretty even flow of traffic during the same period yet Alexa has me all over the map. I know a lot of people think Alexa is a great tool to measure site rank but Google Analytics is more reliable.

want to continue with this reply that alexa traffic rank is based on the historical traffic data and not updated frequently as Google.

It's a measurement of traffic of a website. alexa is a search company and it estimates the traffic of a website based on the software installed in the alexa tool bar.

This is a ranking site not more than that. It is also like google.

alexa is like a web directory. if you submit your site there you and if people search for the same keywords, your site will be shown to them and this way you will get a few traffic. it was very effective one time but now they are not in a good position
